I am a proud honors graduate of the Design & Visual Communication program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where my foundation in traditional art paved the way for my ambitions as a Creative. From a young age, drawing and painting fueled a hands-on, forward-thinking approach that now drives my work as a designer.

Creative challenges aren’t something I shy away from—they’re what I run toward. Fueled by curiosity and a fierce drive to grow, I’m always expanding my skill set to become a true “Swiss Army knife” in the field. I’m here to create, disrupt, and push boundaries for as long as I am alive.

Experience

Graphic Design Intern

June 2024 - August 2024

I assisted with campaign development and collaborated with the creative team. I also shadowed senior colleagues, adapted work based on client feedback, and ensured timely, high-standard project delivery. This role continued to develop my conceptual thinking, problem-solving skills, and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite within a team-based, deadline-driven environment.

Graphic Design Intern + Freelance

November 2023 - July 2024

My work involved a dynamic array of projects, both client-facing and internal. I had the opportunity to collaborate with the Executive Creative Director, contributing to the development of illustration and typography lockups for an Augmented Reality project.

Designer + Illustrator

September 2023 - December 2023

In the UW-Milwaukee Art 329 Package Design course, I participated and rose to the challenge, of creating a design that not only encapsulated the spirit of the city but also distinguished itself amidst a bustling beer retail scene. My design was selected for a high-profile collaboration and has the distinction of being the first student-created design to be licensed and distributed citywide for UW-Milwaukee's Panther Pale Ale.

Creative Design Intern

June 2023 - August 2023

I gained insight into the functions of a full-service advertising agency, particularly the structure of an extensive Creative department. Through shadowing Designers and assisting with projects aligned with my skill set, I gained familiarity with Bader Rutter’s clients in the Food / Agricultural sectors.

Marketing + Advertising Intern

June 2023 - August 2023

My journey with The BrandLab, through their mission of empowering BIPOC students, provided me with a unique opportunity to intern at Bader Rutter, where I engaged with the inner workings of a full-service ad agency. Empowered by The BrandLab's commitment to diversity and inclusivity, I had the privilege to contribute my skills and enthusiasm to the Creative Function at Bader Rutter.

Testimonials

Mike Roe

Executive Creative Director

Hoffman York, Milwaukee Advertising Agency

"Gisselle is an exceedingly rare mix of talent and work ethic. Not only is she a thoughtful designer, she is an artist with mad illustration skills bringing more possibilities for problem-solving through different execution styles. She is also an absolute professional. Extremely detailed. And very communicative. During her time at Hoffman York, we threw a lot her way and Gisselle always came up big. She was also a critical team member on Augmented History – an augmented reality walking tour which resurrects ghost signs in all their colorful glory. Put simply, Gisselle flat out rocks!"

Allison Miller

Art Director

Hoffman York, Milwaukee Advertising Agency

"During her time interning at HY, Gisselle approached each project thoughtfully and with a fresh perspective. Not only is she a talented designer, but thankfully, she was given opportunities to flex her illustration skills - which were very well received from our client and the rest of our team. Whether assigned to an internal agency project or client-facing campaign, Gisselle was always happy to jump in and help her team out. Not only does this speak volumes about her dedication to her craft, but it also showed her eagerness to continue to learn, develop and to create the best work. I have no doubt that wherever Gisselle lands, she’s going to turn some heads. I truly do believe that any team would be lucky to have her."
